English: A side trip to visit the Alltwalis Wind Farm near Pencader consisting of 10 110-metre tall towers at Blaengwen on the hills above Gwyddgrug, Pencader in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
It took a few false turns down lanes to finally find a road that lead up among the wind turbines. The wind farm has a Capacity of 23 MW and started generating in January 2010. There was a herd of horses grazing under one of the terminals, and a farmer was herding sheep nearby. See www.renewables-map.co.uk/details.asp?pageid=2058 for full details of this windfarm. |
