Description
English: The battery was built by the Penzance Corporation in 1740 for £200 and was manned by a volunteer company throughout the 18th century. A photograph from around 1870 does not show any guns although a 1910 photograph shows at least five cannons. The war memorial was designed by Sir Edward Warren (1856-1937) and built by Messrs. W.H. Snell & Sons.
This is a photo of listed building number 1393855.
