Summary edit
DescriptionPershore Bridge World War II defences - geograph.org.uk - 859844.jpg |
English: Pershore Bridge World War II defences The Pershore Bridges were recognised by the World War II Home Defence planners as strategically important crossings of the River Avon, and were heavily fortified in 1940 and 1941 in case of a German invasion. Most of the structures have since been demolished but these four concrete anti-tank cylinders remain across the northern entrance to the old Pershore Bridge. |
