Summary edit

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 74001380.

Description An unrestored house in Raleigh's Oakwood Neighborhood, which displays a very simple yet charming form of Victorian architecture. Constructed in the late 19th Century, this house stands at the corner of Person Street and Lane Street, across from the North Carolina State Governor's Mansion on what used to be Burke Square Park. Today, unrestored houses like this one are becoming harder to find as the Raleigh housing market is one of the most desirable in the nation, but it does give some insight as to the condition of the neighborhood several decades ago before a massive wave of restorations in the late 20th Century and early 21st Century.
