Description
English: Wooden Baroque pulpit from 1748, richly carved and gilt, marbleized surfaces, olive green, dark green, and yellowish pink colour scheme. Decoration: rocaille, festoons, volutes, vases, angel heads, floral motifs. Built by carpenter József Deller in the same style as the main altar. Donated by Ferenc Kálló, the abbot of Szászvár. Iconography: the four Evangelists with their books, small winged head of a lion; abat-voix: silver dove, allegorical women flanking a heart escutcheon, one of them raising a palm branch, globus cruciger, the Tablets of Stone surrounded by putti and glory.
