Description
Deutsch: Blick auf Marburg. Aquarell mit Deckfarben. Signiert und datiert P. Becker 1874. Elisabethkirche. Im Hintergrund ist der damals noch nicht dicht sondern mit einer halboffenen Landschaft bewaldete Hügel mit der Augustenruhe auf der Spitze als Ausläufer des Marburger Rückens zu erkennen. In das Alte Wasser der Lahn mündet der nach einem Hochwasser Mitte des Jahrhunderts kurz zuvor überwölbte Ketzerbachkanal mitten durch eines der kleineren Fachwerkhäuser am Ufer, ein schmaler hölzerner Steg führt an der Mündung über den Ketzerbach. Im Schwarzen Wasser in dem sich an einem sonnigen Tag der Himmel blau spiegelt ein Fischerboot.
