English: Towards Peterborough North from Spital Bridge, with Down ECML express. View southward, towards Peterborough North and London on the ECML, also March etc., at Spital Junction Box (behind camera). A Down express is pulling away, headed by Gresley A3 4-6-2 No. 60064 'Tagalie' (built 8/24 as A1 No. 2563 and named 'William Whitelaw' until 7/41, rebuilt as A3 11/42, withdrawn 6/64). Waiting to cross into New England Yard is an O2 2-8-0 on a Down empties. The ex-Midland lines are on the right. In the distance is the Crescent Bridge, beyond the Station. |
