Description Front cover of the smaller of two small souvenir albums printed by the Raines & Cox Studio, Wilson, NC. These photographs were sent to the studio to be printed by a James Battle, likely from Wilson, and the photos depict various scenes and unidentified men and women in unidentified locations. Based on the scant information available in these albums and on the envelope in which they were originally housed, it appears that James Battle was probably a soldier in the US Army and the pictures in both albums were probably shot by him in the mid to late 1940s. The photographs in this smaller album look as if they might have been shot somewhere in eastern Europe.
