Summary edit
DescriptionPhan Van Do (6163600121).jpg |
He is from the Viet nam village of My Lai. He spoke briefly and eloquently about the importance of our gathering. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi_Lai After speaking Phan Van Do spoke with participants. When everyone else had their time with him I walked over and told him I had refused to go to kill Asian people. He asked me if I had been active in the anti war movement. I said yes from 1965 until the war ended. He took my hand and thanked me. When he was escorted out of the hall he saw where I was standing and went out of his way to again shake my hand and thank me. As you can imagine I was profoundly moved. |
