| Description | Mme Adélaïde Louise d'Avout, fille du maréchal d'Avout d'Auerstaedt, marquise de Blocqueville va faire un don de 300 000 frs. De son testament, daté du 2 février 1885, est extrait ce qui suit : "Ma première et ma plus chère volonté est qu'il soit élevé un phare sur un point dangereux des côtes de France, non miné par la mer."..." J'aimerais que le phare d'Eckmühl fût élevé là, mais sur quelque terrain solide, granitique, car je veux que ce noble nom demeure longtemps béni. Les larmes versées par la fatalité des guerres, que je redoute et déteste plus que jamais, seront ainsi rachetées par les vies sauvées de la tempête." |
