English: Our country is one of the most megadiverse in the world. We're blessed with hundreds of ingredients that make Filipino cuisine unique. However, many local ingredients are overlooked, and some are becoming endangered. It's only in recent years that they've gained popularity. This photo showcases various ingredients from different parts of the archipelago. The centerpiece is Asin Tibuok, a dinosaur egg-shaped artisanal salt. Other ingredients include langkawas or native galangal, used for aroma in sinamak and fermented products; tabon-tabon and dungon, used in kinilaw; kalingag or Philippine cinnamon; landang, a starch for binignit; lubi-lubi, a popular vegetable in the Bicol region; katmon, a souring agent, and the list goes on.
