Summary

edit
Description A photo of the interior of the sleeping car (exterior photo appears just before this picture). With 900+ km of track, there was enough scope for running at least one overnight train on the Nfl. Railway. Sadly however, the railway came to grief and eventually closed down as it was slow. Freight to the mainland meant transhipment onto boat and then standard gauge cars later. An end to end journey of 14+ hours also did not find favour with passengers as buses could do that in just 7 hours or so. Not that there is much traffic to begin with for economical operation of the railway anyway. (St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, June 2015)
