Description
English: View of the front side of the cup depicted at File:Physical weathering styrofoam cup Lake MIchigan.jpg, a 12-ounce expanded polystyrene cup for hot beverages manufactured by the Dart Container Corporation, at rest on the strandline of Lake Michigan in Gary, Indiana, and exhibiting signs of physical degradation due to freshwater wave action. Portions of the company's tagline ([1]), "An average weight paper hot cup generates about 181% more solid waste by weight than a comparable foam cup," are visible here and also on the reverse. The cup appears to have been from the company's Impulse line, in which cups are color-coded by size for cashier convenience and green represents the 12-ounce size ([2]).
