English: This kind of pierced wall corner seems to be quite common in Malta and was very likely used to tie things. The local limestone is quite soft and makes it easy to drill holes like these. A much larger one can be found behind the reception desk in the ground floor and was probably used to tether horses or donkeys who had pulled the cart with corn to the mill.

Similar hitches can be found in or outside farm houses to tether animals and even in Ggantija Temples, a neolithic site nearby.

As far as I remember, this one was also in the doorway from the living room to the kitchen.
