Pierced wall corner in kitchen window

Summary edit

Description
English: This kind of pierced wall corner seems to be quite common in Malta and was very likely used to tie things. The local limestone is quite soft and makes it easy to drill holes like these. Similar hitches can be found in or outside farm houses to tether animals and even in Ggantija Temples, a neolithic site nearby. This one was in the kitchen window and was probably used to hold the window or shutters open.
