Summary edit

Description
English: Place: Pingtung

Three years ago I studied for three weeks at National Pingtung University (NPTU) in Pingtung City. Pingtung is the southernmost county in Taiwan, its capital is Pingtung with a population of just over 200,000. It's quite a nondescript place, but I visited some friends who live there for the second time this year, with whom I went to Tainan, the bicycle trip in Taitung and the impressive Fo Guang Shan temple.

Zongsheng public temple (宗聖公祠) is probably one of the nicest temples in Pingtung city and is well-hidden between ugly concrete buildings. Construction started in 1927 during the Japanese Shōwa rule of Taiwan and the temple was finished in 1929.
