A check on copyright.gov for the title Pioneers of Negro Origin in California shows no listings. Checked Sue Bailey Thurman and found that her only registrations and renewals were of her husband's work--listing them here--she did not renew this book. WorldCat link [1] proves the book was published in 1952.
