Description
English: Pirna, Am Markt No. 7, "Canaletto-Haus", cultural heritage monument built 1525.
Deutsch: Pirna: Blick auf das "Canaletto-Haus" (Am Markt 7). Das Haus ist eines der stadtbildprägendsten Gebäude Pirnas. Es entstand um 1525 infolge eines Gebäudeumbaus. Damals verfügte das Haus allerdings nur über zwei Vollgeschosse mit vier Zwerchhäusern. Diese wurden (vermutlich nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg) zu Gunsten eines dritten Vollgeschosses abgebrochen. Deshalb weist der markante und hohe Giebel einen "Knick" auf. 1753/56 fertigte der Maler Bernardo Bellotto, genannt Canaletto eine Marktansicht, die bereits die heutige Gebäudeform zeigt. Obwohl Canaletto selbst keine weitere Bindung zu dem Haus besaß, ging sein Name auf das Gebäude über.
