Français : Dessin coloré signé HG Ziegler, conservé dans les collections de Burgley House (Lincolnshire), représentant la cérémonie organisée devant Burghley House, le 14 novembre 1844. La reine victoria plante un arbre (chêne) devant la façade sud de la Maison, alors que le prince plante un tilleul. La reine s'est montrée incapable d'utiliser la lourde bêche d'argent qu'on lui avait préparé. On lui apporte une pelle d'enfant en bois.
Rem : la tradition se maintient : à Burghley House (Lincolnshire), la princesse Anne d'Angleterre a planté le premier arbre du jubilée de 60 ans de règne de sa mère, la reine Elizabeth II, montée sur le trône le 6 février 1952 ( jubilé de diamant, 2012).
English: Colored drawing signed by HG Ziegler, preserved in the collections of Burgley House, representing the ceremony held before Burghley House on November 14, 1844. Queen Victoria plant a tree (oak) in front of the south facade of the House, while the prince plants a Lime. The queen was unable to use the heavy silver spade that had been prepared for her. Somedody bring her a child's wooden spade.
Rem: tradition continues : Princess Anne of England planted the first tree of 60 years of reign of her mother, Queen Elizabeth II (on the throne on February 6, 1952) in Burghley House, for the Diamond Jubilee, 2012. |
