English: Plaque commemorating Ryde Pier Tramway, Isle of Wight, England. The plaque is mounted on an outer wall of Ryde Esplanade station, close to where the tram departed for its run up the pier. Although the plaque refers to "Isle of Wight Steam Railway", the tram was originally horse-drawn, only briefly steam-powered, then electric, then petrol, and finally briefly diesel. |
