Texte de la plaque : « Place de L'Institut Canadien
La Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec et la Ville de Québec en aménageant cette place, rappellent à la mémoire des Québécois et des Québécoises les 150 ans de l'Institut Canadien de Québec.
L'Institut, fondé en 1848, par des citoyens attachés à leur langue et à leur histoire, a été et demeure pour la société québécoise un des lieux privilégiés de la transmission de ces valeurs et de l'acquisition de connaissances.
L'oeuvre de Luc Archambault "Nous sommes un peuple" rend hommage aux fondateurs et à ceux et celles qui ont assuré la pérennité et le développement de la l'Institut.
Inauguré le 22 novembre 2000.
