Description
Nunca olvidaremos vuestra / ofrenda a nuestro país». La inscripción en inglés dice: «The cathedral of Malaga / We hearby wish to express our most / sincere and deep apreciation for / the generocity of the pepole of Malaga, / the most reverend Miguel Murguiro, Bishop of Malaga and chapter of / thisholy church who in the year 1780 / contributed 400,000 reales to his / Majesty King Carlos III for aid to / the American Colonies in their war / with Great Britain and for support / of General Bernardo de Galvez, / Governor of Louisana. As a result / of their generosity they abandoned / the construction of the second bell / tower for this cathedral which / has never been built. We will / never forget your offering / for our country». En la parte inferior de la placa, se lee: «Presented by The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution May 9, 1997».
