English: Account of an insurrection of the negro slaves in the colony of Demerara, which broke out on the 18th of August, 1823. Plate divided into four parts including: (upper left) plan of the plantation of Bachelor's Adventure; (upper right) cotton fields with canal; (lower left) Order of march of the troops, up the East coast, August 19; (lower right) Plan of Georgetown Demerara. 1824. Cartographic elements include compass roses, scale, locations of bodies of water, troops, crops, lands use, and buildings. Items are lettered and numbered for identification.
Français : Relation d'une insurrection des esclaves nègres dans la colonie de Demerara, qui éclata le 18 août 1823. Planche divisée en quatre parties comprenant : (en haut à gauche) le plan de la plantation de Bachelor's Adventure ; (en haut à droite) champs de coton avec canal ; (en bas à gauche) Ordre de marche des troupes, sur la côte Est, le 19 août ; (en bas à droite) Plan de Georgetown Demerara. 1824.
