English: No. 7, Captain George Franklin Atkinson, a view of the 'Storming the Batteries at Badle-Serai', 1857, from the book 'The Campaign in India, 1857-8', published 1859.
During the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) a British force advancing on Delhi was opposed by a rebel force with superior artillery at Badle-Serai. The British force attacked suffering heavy casualties but succeeded in forcing the rebels to withdraw to Delhi.
