Description

Absolutely tiny Platycheirus female comparable with nearby Noascia podagrica. One of the grey-spotted abdomen species. Smaller and squatter than female P. albimanus. Distinctive in having black 3rd antennal segment, black mid and front femora, and no distinct dust spots on the frons which is shiny black. Keys used: Stubbs & Falk; M.P. van Veen. Gilston, Scottish Borders, Scotland.
