Plenário do Congresso Nacional durante sessão solene para comemorar o Dia Internacional da Mulher, ocasião em que é entregue o Diploma Mulher-Cidadã Bertha Lutz 2015 para mulheres que tenham oferecido relevante contribuição na defesa dos direitos da mulher e questões do gênero no Brasil.

O Conselho do Diploma Mulher-Cidadã Bertha Lutz, composto por 15 membros, escolheu, de forma inédita, seis mulheres para serem agraciadas com o prêmio neste ano. Diante do empate na votação para a escolha das cinco homenageadas, o conselho decidiu abrir uma exceção e contemplar uma candidatura a mais.

Homenageadas: ministra do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), Cármen Lúcia; primeira mulher a presidir a União Nacional dos Estudantes (UNE), Clara Araújo; pesquisadora sobre direitos humanos de mulheres e jovens na América Latina, Mary Garcia Castro; membro do Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente e do Comitê Estadual de Enfrentamento à Violência Sexual, Ivanilda Pinheiro Salucci; presidente da Federação Nacional das Trabalhadoras Domésticas, Creuza Maria Oliveira; primeira ministra empossada presidente do Superior Tribunal Militar (STM), Maria Elizabeth Guimarães Teixeira; psicóloga e fundadora da Associação SOS Mulher Família de Taubaté, Débora Martins Bonafé dos Santos (in memoriam) será representada pela mãe, Claudinéa Martins Bonafé.
