Description Pluckley Church in Kent, monumental brass of Marie Goringe (d.1588), daughter of Sir Henry Goringe of Burton in Sussex, and wife of Sir Anthony Dering of Surrenden in the parish of Pluckley. And her only daughter Jane Dering (d.1607). Arms of Dering (modern) Or, a saltire sable (of 9 quarters) impaling Goringe (of 6 quarters). Arms of Goringe of Burton in Sussex: Argent, a chevron between three annulets gules (Goring baronets, Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.413, same arms as Goring, Earl of Norwich). Is this another "forgery"?
