| Description |
English: Plumpton Green Level Crossing Viewed from Plumpton Station. The old style gates are now the only ones of this type found in the county and are also the only ones operated by a wheel in the signal box above. The box had a preservation order placed on it in the 1980s which provoked British Rail into almost demolishing a number of others overnight to prevent a similar occurrence happening with those. The old Crossing keeper's Cottage is on the right and still has its original identification number, 16, painted on the side. |
