М. Прохорова. Депутат Переславского городского совета (1990—1994), депутат городской Думы 1 созыва (1994—1996), второй секретарь Переславского райкома КПРФ и член бюро Ярославского обкома КПРФ. Награждён медалью «За спасение погибавших» за участие в ликвидации последствий аварии на Чернобыльской АЭС. Почётный химик Российской федерации. Заслуженный изобретатель Российской федерации.
