| Description |
Nederlands: De wijk Westeinde is in de jaren 70 gebouwd op boerengrond van de familie Tamminga. Het gedicht is aangeboden door het wijkpanel ter gelegenheid van het veertigjarig bestaan van de wijkvereniging. Het gedicht is gemaakt door Jikke Tamminga (1948-2016), dochter van de voormalige grondeigenaar. Zij overleed driekwart jaar voor plaatsing van het gedicht. De letters van het gedicht zijn uitgespaard in een stalen 'perkament' op een inktpot. Door het perkament steekt een kroontjespen. Het kunstwerk is gemaakt door Jurjen van der Meer, partner van de dichter en verwijst naar de straten in de wijk die vernoemd zijn naar Friese schrijvers en dichters.
Het gedicht is in het Frysk: Dizze, eartiids, moaie boeregrûn is no sa’n fjirtich jier ferbûn mei nammen út it ferline litte hjir ús thúsplak fine en jouwe kleur oan dizze wyk Westeinde, rekkenje dysels mar ryk In het Nederlands: Deze, eertijds, mooie boerengrond Is nu zo’n veertig jaar verbonden met namen uit het verleden laat hier ons thuis vinden en geef kleur aan deze wijk Westeinde, reken jezelf maar rijk Op een plaquette staat: Oanbean troch it wykpanel foar 40 jier wykferiening |
