Description
English: (~7.7 centimeters tall)

(made by Warren Whitmer)

"Blue Biggs Jasper" is a rockhound term for colorful, complexly patterned siliceous material ("jasper") from Oregon. The geometry of the dark banding is similar to the iron oxide-rich "Liesegang banding" present in many porous rocks such as sandstone. Oddly, this rock is tight and nonporous, apparently from post-banding silification.
