English: Polkemmet Railway Junction Polkemmet opencast mine shipped coal by rail to the Glasgow > Shotts > Edinburgh main line. The line leading to Polkemmet can be seen heading off to the left, but within a few metres the tracks have been lifted. The main line continues on to Edinburgh. (NB picture taken on a Sunday, with no services on the line that day). |
