Description

[syn. Munroidendron racemosum] Pōkalakala or Munroidendron Araliaceae Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands (Kauaʻi only) Oʻahu (Cultivated)

This beautiful tree (center) became another victim of the black twig borer (Xylosandrus compactus), a 1-2 mm introduced beetle that wreaks havoc on many of our native Hawaiian plants. Sadly, the 22-foot had to be cut down this past November 2010.
