Description
English: Built in 1914, this Classical Revival-style building was constructed to serve as the Pomeroy Public Library, and was funded with a grant from the Carnegie Foundation. The building features a buff brick exterior, low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet, a projected entrance bay on the front facade with a front gable roof, cornices with dentils, three-over-one and one-over-one windows, roman lattice transoms at the second floor windows, a recessed entrance bay with an alcove, large glass transom, and a pediment over the entrance door, a front stoop, and limestone trim. The building is a contributing structure in the Pomeroy Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
