Summary edit

Description
English: The former Fuhrmann Plant of the Ford Motor Company, 901 Fuhrmann Boulevard, Buffalo, New York, May 2020. Designed by Albert Kahn and Associates, this former assembly plant - a late-period example of his trademark style of industrial architecture - opened in 1931 and turned out over two million automobiles, distributed mainly to dealerships in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and employing 1,200 workers at its mid-1950s apex. At the time of the plant's 1958 closure, it was the only remaining facility in Buffalo where automobiles were assembled start to finish; operations were moved to Lorain, Ohio at that time. The building was sold to the Niagara Frontier Port Authority (now the NFTA) in 1967 who leased space to a variety of local companies such as Rich Products, Tops supermarkets, Harlequin Books, Sonwil Distribution, and most recently NanoDynamics. The building became a local landmark in 2019 and is currently eyed for redevelopment.
