Italiano: Federico Castellani, coadiuvato dal padre Luigi Castellani (*1822 †1890), aprì uno stabilimento nel 1867 ad Alessandria, in corso Roma, 5, trasferitosi poi in via Piacenza, Casa Pedemontana. Egli svolse la sua attività, dopo il 1870, anche a Vercelli, in via del Duomo, 1, e a Nizza. Nel 1889, dopo la morte di Federico Castellani, la vedova Teresa Casalone rilevò la ditta.

Italiano: La porta venne edificata nel XVII secolo dal governatore spagnolo, di stanza ad Alessandria, don Ferdinando Garcia Ravanal. Posta in direzione nord-nord-est nella cinta muraria di Alessandria, fu demolita nel XIX secolo. Stessa sorte toccò anche alle mura.
