Description
Italiano: Antica Torre di Guardia posta sulla riva del mare, al di sotto delle rupi del Monte Conero, a Portonovo di Ancona.

Venne edificata nel 1716 da Papa Clemente XI Albani, come posto di vedetta per l’avvistamento delle navi nemiche e a difesa contro le incursioni piratesche, oggi sede della "Associazione culturale Adolfo e Lauro de Bosis", perciò detta anche TORRE CLEMENTINA o TORRE DE BOSIS.

Verso la fine dell’Ottocento, fu acquistata dal poeta anconetano Adolfo De Bosis (1863~1924) che ne fece residenza estiva e luogo di raccoglimento. Il ritiro fu utilizzato anche dal figlio Lauro (1901~1931) scrittore, poeta, aviatore e antifascista, oltre ad essere luogo di ritrovo di vari poeti tra cui Gabriele D’Annunzio (1863~1938), grande amico di Adolfo. Ai soggiorni di D'Annunzio fa riferimento il romanzo di Pelagio D'Afro "L'acqua tace", ambientato a Portonovo.

La Torre è tuttora di proprietà degli eredi di De Bosis. Costruzione a pianta quadrata in pietra bianca del Conero, con facciate in laterizio e tetti spioventi. Dalla terrazza è possibile ammirare un panorama mozzafiato sulla Baia di Portonovo.

Portonovo è una contrada del Poggio di Ancona; è un noto centro turistico, balneare ed artistico, affacciato sull'omonima baia.
