Description
English: Portrait of Isaiah George DeGrasse (1813–1841), a deacon in the Protestant Episcopal Church, the first African American to graduate from the University of Delaware, and brother of physician John van Salee de Grasse. Oil-on-canvas portrait painted by Patrick Henry Reason circa 1840, held by the Kenkeleba Gallery of New York, and measuring 29 1/2 x 24 3/8 in. (74.9 x 61.9 cm).
