Description
Nederlands: Portret van Maria Jacoba Repelaer (1802-1862), toegeschreven aan Johan Heinrich Neuman, gedateerd 1864. Zij woonde te Dordrecht en was gehuwd met Pieter Hendrik van de Wall van Puttershoek (1795-1853); het echtpaar was kinderloos. Zij was weldoenster zowel in Dordrecht [bron: https://dochtersvandordrecht.nl/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Dordtse-Dochters-boekwerk.pdf, p. 24-25] als van Spijkenisse. In Dordrecht bouwde zij een hofje en schonk zij een kerkorgel. In Spijkenisse schonk zij diverse kostbaarheden aan de Dorpskerk, waaronder een zilveren avondmaalset en een kerkorgel.
Beschrijving van de kleding op het portret: Zwarte gebrocheerde zijden japon met wijde mouwen, wit kanten kraagje, witte onderblouse geborduurd met zwarte blaadjes, manchetten van ruches van zwart lint. Zwart-witte floddermuts en zwarte afhangende linten. Mozaiekbroche met vlinder, gouden horlogeketting met geemailleerd horloge, loderijnflesje in rechterhand, linkerarm rust op tafel met gebloemd kleed. Particulier eigendom, privé-collectie.
