Portrait of Richard Eld, Master in Chancery, three-quarter length

The Court of Chancery, before its dissolution in 1852, was a powerful body that had jurisdiction over all matters of equality under the law, including trusts, estates, and guardianship of the mentally ill and infants. Richard Eld would have been one of twelve Masters in Chancery serving under a Master of the Rolls and a Lord Chancellor.

Dr. Bob Jones, Jr. (1911 - 1997) was the second president and chancellor of Bob Jones University and the founder of Bob Jones University Art Museum, which focuses on religious art.
