| Notes | Attributed to Prudhon in the Sémur-Lamoignon family. Attributed to Marie-Guillemine Benoist by Alastair Lang. The attribution to Benoist, accepted by art historians, was rejected by Guy Stair Sainty when the painting reappeared at an auction in Vicenza in October 2021. Stair Sainty commented "direct inspection revealed that it was of mediocre quality and almost certainly not by the artist" ref. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
