Description
English: So-called Portrait of Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor (1685-1740), but is probably a depiction of Johann Wilhelm, Elector Palatine (1658-1716) holding the imperial crown.
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of the Elector Palatine (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance with Emperor Charles VI. This work was probably made based on a portrait mistakenly identified in the 19th century as Charles VI.
