Postcard pre-1930 of Potsdamer Platz with the Palast Hotel at Hermann-Goering-Str. 12. The Palast Hotel also entrances at 18/19 Leipziger Platz. Posted 1934 to Great Yarmouth, England, when the Columbushaus would have been completed for almost two years. On the right the Hotel Fuerstenhof, badly damaged in World War 2 and subsequently demolished. There is no sign of the Columbushaus behind the left hand pillar of the Bahnhof. I suspect the photo was taken after demolition of the Belle Vue Hotel. Indeed, the IPA Leipzig, the International Fur Trade exhibition took place in 1930 [Internationale Pelzfach-Ausstellung] |
