Le despotisme marital est debout comme une pierre d’attente
Les Épouses & les Mères d’un Peuple libre, fatiguées de l’attente, veulent enfin que leur Association conjugale soit volontaire ; Épouses, Mères & Filles d’Hommes que de vains Titres & un fol orgueil, ont rendu Traîtres à leur Patrie, elles osent demander la protection de la Loi ; les puniraient-on [sic] d’avoir formé des Nœuds qui, plus d’une fois, les ont forcé [sic] à gémir ? Législateurs ! les temps sont mûrs, que la Justice & l’Égalité soient enfin aussi pour celles dont la résolution est d’obtenir ou la LIBERTÉ, ou la MORT.
