Summary edit

Description
English: The corner of Best Street and Fosdick Avenue, at the northwest corner of the City Honors High School Complex, is where this monument to the "some 8,000-10,000 unknown souls buried in the Potter's Field on this site" is found. The indigent cemetery was extant until 1884, when the city hired landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted to design a park on the site, which itself only lasted ten years before the predecessor to the present-day school was built on the site. The monument seen here was dedicated in 2012, several years after more human remains were unearthed on the site during construction of an annex on the school.
