English: Before 1654 the plaque with the Circumcision of Christ was placed on an Ebony altar of Marie Louise Gonzaga. It was intended as a palace chapel altar and was donated by the Queen together with a painted wardrobe (sepet) to the newly established church and monastery of the French Order of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Warsaw. Since that time it serves as a tabernacle. |
