English: Powdermill Stream The fast flowing streams of the Weald were utilised for a number of industries one being powder making. Both ponds in Powdermill Wood were built to power mills to make gunpowder and this stretch of stream runs between the two. The roots of the tree on the left have been exposed as the power of the water has eroded away the clay soil. |
