Summary
editDescriptionPower switchyard for Celilo Converter Station (1667720982).jpg |
English: Power switchyard for Celilo Converter Station. Big power lines connecting Pacific Northwest to Southern California for power sharing. Sometimes power goes south. Other times comes north depending on needs. Celilo Converter turns AC power into DC power for more efficient transmission over long distances.
I took a tour. That was 1989 before 911, 2001 concerns closed many facilities to the touring public. I am not sure what the status of tours would be now. Good to check ahead. |
