editDescriptionPrayers of devotees on Rakher Upobash.jpg |
English: Rakher Upobash is a centuries old traditional religious festival of Hindus in Bangladesh. It is held every year at Samibagh temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh. To commemorate the passing away day of Hindu philosopher and saint Loknath Bramochari, various Hindu rituals, Gita recitation, and food distribution are organized here for a week. At this time devotees and visitors of Loknath gathered in this temple.
Devotees eat food in the evening after fasting all day and pray to the Lord by lighting lamps. I took the image from Samibagh temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh. |
