| Description | There's my girl, being prepared for the ride. The keepers wanted to know whether I will ride bareback or on a 'howdah' (the thingy you see on the elephant's back). I opted for the howdah. So here it is, being fitted onto the gentle pachyderm's back. The ride was a good hour and a half. Too bad my camera battery died after a couple of shots. The SLR, the spare battery and an entire spare camera were all in the car, and we couldn't retreive them. (Habarena, Sri Lanka, June 2011). |
